Empowered Women Photo Project (unofficial title)

Calling all ladies!

I will be starting a photography project that centers around women and the things that they do in their lives that make them feel the most empowered. This could be anything from running marathons to career moments, mothering, cooking, arts, exercise/sports, etc. Anything goes.

Therefore, I'm looking for women participants. I hesitate to use the word "model" but you'd be featured in a photo, along with a caption on your empowerment. (If you are shy or prefer not to be recognized, we can get creative with hands/silhouettes, etc. so do not let that be a limiting factor)

Please reach out and message me at if you are interested and let me know how you personally kick butt! I will send out a form and follow up with shoot scheduling and brainstorming.

Thank you to the women in my life for being awesome and inspiring, let's feel some positivity about our amazing accomplishments!

As we celebrate her first month on earth, I wanted to update the blogosphere on our newly minted daughter Imogen.  She was born on December 9, accompanied by some snow and a whole lotta love. These are just a few shots I've taken of her so far.

A Nursery for Noodle

In a bit of personal news, we are 4 days away from our due date with our first child.  Dubbed "Noodle" in utero, we do not know the gender and we can't wait to see what we're getting. It's all very exciting and we're impatient!

This room has been a guest room and a work in progress since we first bought our house, but has been transformed into a Nursery in the past 9 months.  We ripped out a closet shelving system to make a cute alcove for the dresser/changing station, and I painted the cut-paper fox artwork myself.

Tim and Jackie

This past weekend I had the honor of shooting a small wedding for two very lovely people (and their cute pups!) It was several notches above "breezy" out, but they managed not to blow away amidst their vows, and it was a very touching and beautiful ceremony.  Congratulations!

Happy Fall

Just some fab fall florals on a perfect cloudy October day.

October: The Month of Weddings

My husband and I have three weddings to attend together this month, (two of which he is in) and I have four, because I am shooting one. It's a busy season for most, even without weddings, and it's one of the best months of the year if you're a fall lover. Additionally I'm in my last few weeks of pregnancy which makes all this running around a little harder than it was before, but no less fun!  We attended the first of our weddings last weekend, and although I was not employed, I shot a few details anyway.

Me, Myself, and The Bump!

I had my husband help me out with a baby bump shot last night, we have 11 weeks to go until we meet the new Somers kid.  It's very hard to be patient!

Booking Fall Sessions

Fall is one of the best times to take photos, it's not too hot, the colors are insane, and fashion can be fun. I have very limited availability in October this year (three weddings!) so contact me as soon as you can to schedule a session!

Shoutout to My Cats

This past year has been a whirlwind for my household for a number of reasons, but one of the big ones is that in the space between March and August, we have gone from having no pets, to one cat, to FIVE CATS, and now we are back down to three, with the end goal of two.

A cute and very vocal little grey and white cat showed up on our porch on some of the coldest days of this past winter in March.  Because cats always get what they want, we wound up adopting her instead of leaving her out in the cold. A few weeks later we found out that she'd been busy on the streets and she was expecting a litter.  Four kittens were born in my basement ceiling. Happily, we found three homes and decided to keep the fourth, a tuxedo named Potato.

Kittens.... they tear up the curtains, they knock over all the water, they chew on plants and puke them up later, they carry toys around howling, but they're awfully cute.

Steel and Style

A friend and fellow artist and photographer needed some headshots for some new ventures, so we had a quick session at the Steel Stacks on Bethlehem's southside, a great place to shoot with lots of texture.

A Very Hungry Caterpillar

Another day, another impossible cutie. This hungry caterpillar came a month early and celebrated her own due date with a picture party.  I'd say she is well on her way to being a beautiful butterfly.
